ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a great opportunity to join a growing, global organization. The Senior Quality Control Specialist is responsible for assuring that all UA Brands apparel meets or exceeds the brands’ and customers’ quality expectations. Systematic responsibility to facilitate quality and compliance-related issues or concerns. Responsible for evaluating PP/TOP samples and maintaining the PP/TOP library.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Review, analyze, and submit regular reports for the Director of Quality and VP based on customer ratings and returns data, as to areas Quality should be driving proactive actions with the factory and/or suppliers.
- Will lead the quality WorkFront ticket reviews and resolution with C/S teams. Responsible for maintaining the database for Pre-Production review and approvals, contributing to weekly production meetings, and bi-weekly cross-functional meetings.
- Oversee all in-house testing, including fabric and garment performance testing as well as specialized wash testing, ensuring all methods align with the latest laboratory standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Interpret results into actionable recommendations.
- Review and approve PPS (pre-production samples) from owned and sourced production suppliers. Track milestones and service level agreement turn-times on these sample reviews. Issue clear and concise reports as to the status of the sample submitted to maintain production timelines. Maintain database for approvals, rejections, and corrections.
- Concisely reports findings to leaders of quality, production, sourcing, design, and merchandising as well as suppliers.
- Execute all 3rd party garment inspection work orders, evaluate results, and recommend action.
- Collaborate directly with the Factory QC manager and factory quality team on TOP evaluations and issues that are found during TOP Stage to layout a corrective action plan for current production or next contract.
- When quality issues arise in the Factory with 3rd party trim suppliers, lead the issue resolution to minimize business disruption and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Engage in training of QC Factory, QC Distribution Center, and testing team to continually elevate their knowledge base of how the product is to be reviewed, measured, and reported for greater consistency in information flow to C/I manager.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- BS/BA Degree - Apparel/Textile technology, Product Development in apparel production within the fashion industry
- Knowledge of garment construction and how to evaluate a garment
- Analysis of garment construction, manufacturing methods, and quality control procedures
- Demonstrated technical experience and expertise working with overseas mills, suppliers, and manufacturers
- Understanding how to measure garments using Point of Measurement (POM)
- Ability to perform all physical fabric and garment tests
- Knowledge of laboratory colorfastness testing, dyeing processes, and the corresponding AATCC and ASTM standards, as well as Oeko Tex100, and ISO standards
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of (past use of) PLM systems
- Ability to multi-task, proactively troubleshoot issues, independently problem-solve, and work effectively as a team
- Extremely detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills; deadline-driven
- Proven experience building working relationships with cross-functional teams
