As the Warehouse & Distribution Manager, you will be responsible for all planning and execution related to the warehouse Fulfillment & Distribution functions with a focus on achieving goals for all customer orders placed before 5:00 pm.  Planning includes maintaining forecasting tools as well as coordinating and managing staff as appropriate in anticipation of hourly volumes. Appropriate execution includes complete, accurate, and timely completion of duties before sending work to subsequent departments, ability to note and address all discrepancies, to include communication and partnership with cross-functional peers. The leader in this role will also personally drive the expected quality and production goals of their direct reports daily. The manager is expected to conduct direct supervision of their staff to include the hiring, training, and development of the team, conducting frequent feedback sessions with associates, and conducting performance evaluations.  This role will also require the ability to manage payroll processing and the ability to manage all associates’ employee relations concerns with care and respect.


  • Upholds quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards in order to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the Order Picking department mission in an effective and efficient manner. Interview and recommend applicants to hire for the Order Picking department.
  • Accomplishes staff results by clearly communicating job expectations and daily goals. Maintain and monitor progress throughout the day in order to anticipate trends or removing obstacles in order to reach daily goals. Provides coaching and counseling, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides production information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to equipment within processes; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Develops and recommends annual budget requirements for the Order Picking department. Anticipate and request funding for future personnel requirements. Anticipate and request funding for future material handling equipment.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all job tools, equipment, and resources.
  • Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures ensuring associate’s ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from the Order Picking areas (OSHA compliance, maintenance schedule, QA checks, observation of equipment use, training, and appropriate record-keeping).
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

Required Experience:

  • High School or Equivalent required; Bachelors or commensurate experience preferred
  • 5-7 years of management experience required.
  • 2-5 years of distribution or fulfillment experience, is a plus.
